LFA vision, mission and strategy

LFA Mission: To develop and maintain the physiotherapy profession and support its members by promoting high professional standards.

Vision: A prestigious, recognizable, sustainable and competitive profession that embodies the principles of good practice and evidence-based medicine.

Values:

Three main directions:

Further education - to improve professional competences.

Political issues - To strengthen the autonomy of the physiotherapy profession in the health care system and in regulatory enactments.

Professional image - To strengthen the image of the physiotherapy profession at the level of physiotherapists, health care specialists and society.

Objectives of the association:

  1. To strengthen the role of physiotherapy in the health care system, by cooperating with professional organizations in the field of health and social welfare, with educational institutions and research institutions.
  2. To organize scientific and practical further education activities to improve the professional qualifications and competencies of physiotherapists;
  3. To regulate, coordinate and ensure the certification and recertification process of physiotherapists and physiotherapist assistants;
  4. To maintain links between physiotherapists in Latvia and abroad;
  5. To represent the interests of physiotherapists (members of the association) and to promote the qualitative development of the physiotherapy sector in Latvia.
