About LFA
The Latvian Association of Physiotherapists is an association that unites physiotherapy professionals in Latvia. Physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants and students in physiotherapy study programs can join the association.
The Latvian Association of Physiotherapists (LFA) was founded on December 6, 1995 and is currently the largest organization of rehabilitation professionals with more than 1,300 members (2024 data).
OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION:
- to strengthen the role of physiotherapy in the healthcare system, cooperating with professional organizations in the field of health and social welfare, with educational institutions and research institutions;
- to organize scientific and practical further education activities to improve the professional qualifications and competencies of physiotherapists;
- to regulate, coordinate and ensure the certification and recertification process of physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants;
- to maintain links between physiotherapists in Latvia and abroad;
- to represent the interests of physiotherapists (members of the association) and promote the qualitative development of the physiotherapy industry in Latvia.
